   The Rise of the Southern Biscuit is a fun whimsical documentary, featuring the  culinary calling card of the South, the biscuit.   Maryann Byrd wrote, directed, and produced this project as her first independent film for PBS.  The film resonated with Southerners whose memories of biscuits were revisited when they watched the film.
